Carey Ryan

Carey Ryan is a writer/director living in Brisbane Qld. Her short film Empathy is the Devil (2016) was screened internationally at Cannes Film Festival, Festival Des Antipodes, St. Tropez, and Speechless Film Festival in Minnesota, USA. She was awarded “Best Film by an Emerging Filmmaker” (2016), at the Noosa International Film Festival. The film was also shortlisted for “Outstanding Achievement in Dance on Film” at the AusDance Awards in 2017. She featured in WomenCineMakers magazine in their ‘Women’s Independent Cinema” edition (2018) (link below). 

Carey is working on several projects, including a live-action/animation hybrid, BREED, is currently editing Evidence, a short horror, and writing a female-led thriller, ROAD.
